At Carmel, the early childhood and primary school years are the foundation of our unique educational experience.

Carmel Primary School is a vibrant campus that includes the Ashley Schaffer Early Learning Centre, nature and age speci铿乧 play spaces, a library, sports oval and hall, eco centre and garden plus classrooms with breakout spaces that encourage collaboration, investigation and the ability to provide targeted teaching in small groups.

During their primary school years, our students engage with the Western Australian Curriculum which is delivered using developmentally appropriate pedagogy and well-researched learning and teaching methodologies. We offer a broad range of opportunities to students of all abilities and are well known for delivering programs based on differentiated needs.

Data is used purposefully to form learning groups so that each child is working within their zone of proximal development. We provide opportunities for children ready for academic extension. A range of staff members provide small group support to deliver the explicit teaching of numeracy and literacy skills.听听

The dynamic and engaging Jewish Studies curriculum cultivates and further develops the identity of our students.听They are provided with a sense of security and a depth of knowledge about who they are and where they belong.

A large selection of co-curricular activities is offered and facilitated by staff, ranging from dance, visual arts, coding and sports to chess, nature play and opportunities to volunteer at associated charities. We are active in Independent Primary School Heads of Australia (IPSHA) events that include public speaking, multiple sporting opportunities and engagement with the arts.

Our Primary School prides itself on its strategic and informed approach to mapping and facilitating the appropriate learning journey for each of our children. We prioritise building strong, respectful and trusting relationships with every student.
