We are very pleased to announce that we have successfully recruited both a Deputy Head and an Inclusive Education Co-ordinator for Carmel Primary School. We listened very carefully to the feedback parents provided on our survey at the end of last year and one of the themes that emerged was the need for further support for primary students鈥 learning. It鈥檚 great that we have been able to find the right, experienced educators for our school and our students. More details will follow as these two new Primary School staff join the team 鈥 the Deputy Head halfway through this term and the Inclusive Education Co-ordinator at the beginning of Term 4.

Smart watches have recently been causing issues in the Primary School as they can be distracting for some and others are too young to be able to make sensible decisions regarding their appropriate use in school. We will be discussing this as a leadership team later this term and deciding the best approach for 黑料天堂.

On the High School front, Lila Wilkin (Year 10) travelled to Moriah College in Sydney this week, to represent 黑料天堂 at the National Grand Final of the Mikolot Voices of the Future public speaking competition. Students compete by speaking on a topic, the aim being to foster 鈥渁 more refined expression of Jewish voices in the modern world鈥. Lila鈥檚 hard work and talent led to her achieving an impressive third place within a field of talented students from across Australia.

Carmel students are clearly accomplished debaters as well as public speakers 鈥 I am looking forward to listening to two of our High School debating teams, who have performed exceptionally well competing in the听Western Australian Debating League (WADL) competition finals and will hopefully continue their success next week.

Shabbat shalom.听
